Hi VFR Team,

Just a quick enquiry. I understand that it is nigh-on impossible to give a quote of any sort in your line of business, however, i was wondering if you could give me an idea as to if it would be worth you guys having a look at my floor.

I have a victorian tiled hallway floor that is about 4- 5 m2 in some what disrepair. It doesnt appear to be outrageously filthy though an estimated 40% of the tiles have cracks and ultimately need replacing. The floor is patterned with colours of beige/sand, dark clay red and black/blue.

My partner’s father (who owns the house) would love to see the floor in its original state and is prepared to stump up a reasonable sum of cash to that effect (around £1000 as an un-educated guess) Could you possible advise if this sounds reasonable and if indeed it is work that you take on.

Kind regards

Jon

Hi Jon,

Yes you’re correct it is really hard to give a quotation without seeing a floor or detailed photos. It is always worth restoring floors, we firmly believe them to be works of art and an important part of British culture, so where possible restore. It’s hard to say if the sum is accurate without seeing the floor, with 40% breakage there is something amiss which needs some further investigation.
