Victorian Minton Floor Restoration West Bridgford Nottingham, this floor had seen a lot of movement over the years from subsidence. As a result a large section of the floor was replaced with concrete which looked unsightly and was hard to keep clean.

A wonderful example of Victorian geometric tiled flooring by Minton Hollins in West Bridgford Nottingham. Overall the floor was in superb condition; very flat and straight. With only a few missing tiles to replace, this project was focussed on deep cleaning and restoring the colours of natural clay colours.

Firstly we needed to remove any old sealers and coatings from the floor, this would enable us to get to the stains and soiling. After using our neutral cleaning products to thoroughly cleaning the Victorian floor tiles, we added a breathable sealer and polish combination to a sating finish.

This Victorian tiled hallway in West Bridgford Nottingham comprises of E. Smith of Coalville tiles and is on the whole in pretty good condition; some lovely encaustic tiles are used within the floor design.

The floor had been laid over a cellar in a vaulted floor fashion, this had signs of a little flex and wear, causing some of the substrate to come loose from the boarding. This loosening of the substrate naturally affected the tiles; some becoming raised, shifted or loose.

Due to the house not being heated at the time, we chose to use a breathable matt sealer to ensure the tiles were fully protected from staining but unaffected by the very low temperatures at this time of year.

Edwardian Floor Cleaning West Bridgford Nottingham

A really nice Edwardian herringbone floor in West Bridgford Nottingham, these hard fired tiles really do enhance to a lovely dark red colour.

We found the floor to be in a really nice condition with just a couple of minor cracks and some shadowing from carpet underlay and paint splatters. After giving the floor a good scrubbing with our advanced cleaning products we sealed and finished the floor off with a high gloss polish.

Like all of our polishes, this coating is non-slip and low maintenance and requires nothing more than dusting or the odd mop.

A fabulous Victorian geometric hallway floor in West Bridgford Nottingham comprising of tiles by the Campbell tile and brick company Stoke-on-Trent. After carrying out some necessary repairs to the floors loosened substrate, we began preparing the original tiles for relaying onto a modern flexible adhesive.

After giving the floor a thorough deep cleaning, we sealed the tiles and applied a hard wearing satin finish.

A beautiful floor in West Bridgford Nottingham comprising of tiles made by Malkin Edge & Co. The floors subtle palette of coffee and oat-like colours are really enhanced by the strong reds and black on gold encaustics and on the whole, still in very good condition.

After deep cleaning and a few minor repairs, we sealed and polished the floor with a nice satin gloss to enhance the colours and leave just a hint of shine.

A truly stunning example of geometric flooring, West Bridgford Nottingham. West Bridgford is pretty famous locally for it’s Minton hallways and corridors; but few can compare with this floors colour scheme and overall layout.

Overall a very well maintained floor that just need a little extra oomph behind the scrubbing and a little colour injection, which will also add some protection from wear and make cleaning an absolute breeze.

We really are lucky people to be able to work on such great works of art like this fine example of a Minton floor in West Bridgford Nottingham. Considering the floors age, it has weathered really quite well. Especially as it is built above a cellar on a vaulted floor. Naturally there are signs of movement where the supports have sagged over time, which had loosen the odd tile here and there.

The floor now looks fine with a nice shine and colour enhancement and with the original border reinstated.

Some fantastic encaustic tiles are used in this floor on North Road, West Bridgford. Not the easiest floor to clean due to the various contaminants and plus and an odd little technical challenge that needed to be overcome.

But on the whole the floor looks a lot cleaner and brighter and as a result of our sealers, far easier to maintain.

Fantastic use of colour in this floor, unfortunately many of the natural clay coloured tiles have dished quite significantly; which the customer plans to replace at a later day. All many of contaminants present of the floor: paint, varnish, cement residue, dust etc.

Finished article looks very nice though!
