Today we restored an old marble terrazzo floor in Nottingham, the terrazzo floor tiles we laid in an Victorian porch and had seen many years of use, full of wear and tear and covered with an old varnish. The tiles certainly didn’t look their best.

A very old floor in Stoke Bardolf, Nottinghamshire which had been covered over with screed of differing strengths and mixtures, some relatively easy to remove; others not. The whole process was very labour intensive as it wasn’t possible to grind the screed off without damaging the tiles beneath.

Originally trapped under an inch of bitumen damp proofing this Victorian floor in Gedling Nottingham was literally full of stains from the bitumen and linseed oil, not a single tile was untouched.
